Q.Where do we get Electricity from?
Electricity is generated in Power stations. These Power stations use generators to generate electricity.
The Generators are coupled to the prime movers which is rotated by the use of turbines. These turbines are driven by Steam, water, wind, etc., Based on the turbine the power generating stations are classified as Thermal Power station ( uses coal, wood, waste materials to burn & heat the water. The hot steam got by boiling water is used to run the turbines), Hydro Power Stations ( Flowing water with high pressure is used to run the turbine), Wind Power generation (Wind energy is used ).
Apart from these, now nuclear power is used to heat water ( balance process is similar to Thermal power station). Instead of burning coal or wood, nuclear molecules are used to generate heat to boil water.
Most these generating stations, create air /environmental pollutions by the resulting waste materials in the process. ( Dust is a big pollution in case of thermal & nuclear waste in case of nuclear power stations).
The cleanest method of generating power is Wind & the latest is "Solar power" generation. Solar power can be used for generation small amount of electricity, required for a house.
As the demand for electricity is growing world wide, in future " Solar Power" will be the best source of generating electricity.

ELECTRICITY :- ITS IMPORTANCE
Plain and simple, electricity makes our lives easier and more enjoyable, since
almost all of our modern conveniences are electrically powered. We could survive
without electricity, but it would be a lot like camping in a tent, and even the
most avid campers are glad to come home to their modern conveniences! Electricity is a must in our daily lives.......
